Aleisha Cramer Rose was the next Mia Hamm. She was on her way to becoming a national star. She garnered several honors in her high school and college playing days, including the National High School Player of the Year in 1999, the all-time career record for assists at BYU, All-American honors for all four years at BYU, ESPN/Soccer Times Freshman of the Year and just about every other award out there.
Oh, and one more thing: she played on the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team with Tiffany Milbrett, Brandi Chastain, Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm.
Her former coach on the U.S. National Team, April Heinrichs, once said, "Rose is the most impactful player in women's college soccer today. She changed the game. That's about as good a compliment as you'll get from me without calling her the next Michael Jordan."
Aleisha Rose could have been a U.S. soccer legend like Brandi Chastain and Mia Hamm, or even a current star like Hope Solo and Abby Wambach. But she decided to give it up for something better.
Learn about Aleisha's amazing story tonight on a new episode of Legends, at 8:30pm ET/6:30pm MT on BYUtv.
