Have you ever traveled across the United States? It's a long journey in a car, so I can only imagine walking or trying to hitchhike across the nation. And at 12 years old? I probably wouldn't have made it a mile without giving up.

But Natty Gann is not your average 12-year-old. During the Great Depression, Natty's father must leave their home of Chicago for a job on the West Coast. After Natty discovers that her new caretaker is planning to send her off to the orphanage, she escapes to embark on a cross-country journey to find her dad. As can be expected on such a long trip, Natty must navigate all kinds of adventures and obstacles, including the befriending of a wolf and an innocent romance with another young traveler (played by John Cusack). 

Walt Disney's The Journey of Natty Gann airs on Tuesday, February 21, at 6pm MT and 9pm MT on BYUtv.
